“Darling, I am here for you”
“Darling, I know you are there”
“Darling, I know you suffer, that is why I’m here for you”
“Darling, I suffer, I try my best to practice – please help me.”
– Thich Nhat Hank
The quotes above were taken from the Oprah Winfrey interview with Thich Nhat Hank on the OWN Network discussing how to share your heart with your partner.
Today, we’re going to briefly discuss, “Darling, I am here for you”. Many husbands, especially in the entrepreneurial world have difficulty in balancing their personal life and professional life. When Work days spill over into home time or people who work from home don’t set time barriers, the circles of their life became unbalanced. Mental focus time is as important as physical presence. You can be there physically, but your mind might be worrying about the past and planning about the future. Ultimately, you are not there, fully in spirit or mind.
By consciously saying “Darling, I am here for you” – you are subconsciously re-centering your mental focus on your partner and consciously telling her she’s the most important person in the world at this very moment. Give it a try…
I’ll address the last three Thich Nhat Hanh recommendations for couples in my blog later this week…
