Build-A-Dream for Daniel “DJ” Svoboda by Autism Radio and Brian Cimins – ImagiFriends of Imagiville Animation Fundraiser

THE STORY:

My name is D.J. Svoboda, an artist diagnosed with Autism. I am the creator of the Imagifriends of Imagiville. The Imagifriends of Imagiville are based on the experiences I have faced during times at school. There were days at school when I was made fun of, and when I was picked on and treated mean. Those made me feel very sad and hurt. That is how I got the idea of the Imagfriends of Imagiville…now I want to share my experiences to help open people’s minds, hearts and souls to have more compassion and awareness for Autism.

imagiville+bookIt has always been my dream since I authored the first book to make this into a full animated series and I need to start somewhere. I’m asking for anyone who’s ever believed in me to believe in Imagiville now more than ever.

Above is a Music Video that my friend, Brian Cimins, owner of Grapplers Quest and Life Coach at http://YourStrategyCoach.com helped me create a song and music video. I want to keep creating books, calendars and gifts, but I also want to see Imagiville become a living, breathing cartoon that can inspire millions of children throughout the world.

With your support, I will be working together with Brian Cimins to create a teaser episode of The ImagiFriends of Imagiville to pitch to major television networks. Help me dream big!

Please support our “My Imagiville – Animated Teaser Campaign” hosted by “Build-A-Dream” by AUTISM RADIO at: http://www.crowdrise.com/imagiville/fundraiser/autismradioanjnonpro

With Love and Compassion,

My most important role in my life is being a father, role model and leader to my two amazing children, Logan and Kaylee.

I started watching them for 15 hours a day from 7:45 AM until 10:00 PM every day. Initially it was very challenging, because I was breaking the work-at-home workaholic cycle on top of figuring out what to do to add value to their lives.

I needed to “Dad-up” and realize that I needed to not just be in the same room as the kids, but truly be PRESENT in the moment and become more lovingly interactive with them. I realized that pressing play on NetFlix and letting the kids play video games for hours while you type away on the laptop isn’t truly being present with them and they notice.

I missed so much of their life with Grapplers Quest and I decided that I wanted to become a Super Dad.

I remember seeing Jungle Gym founder, Justin Garcia giving some tips and showing fun projects from his amazing Home Schooling Program due out soon (http://MasterChim.com) and I was inspired to set out to fill my new found time with the kids with activities to engage their hearts, minds, soul and spirit.

We started doing arts and crafts, learning Spanish, comic book drawing, practicing nightly meditation, learning the solar system, playing board and card games, star gazing with telescope on clear nights, “Super Hero Training” which is basic exercises with leadership skills and several other Life Skills development programs and several other FUN activities we do together. I even reward their good behavior with Family Inclusive Video Games like Beatles Rock Band nearly every evening – I’ll write about that another blog…all in all, I’m trying to be the Best Dad I can be. I love recommendations for fun things to do – please reply with any ideas.

NOW TO THE PHOTO…

“It’s not coming off!” I exclaimed.

The Red Stained hands in the main picture belong to my beautiful 3-year-old daughter, Kaylee Paige Cimins who slammed down a “Do-A-Dot” marker, breaking the felt tip and causing Red Ink to flow out of the marker. She had been told several times to not slam them down, so when she broke it, she started crying and proceeded to wipe RED INK all over her face too while trying to wipe away tears. She ran into the bathroom where I was giving my son a bath nearly exactly how the picture shows, except she was screaming and crying.

First, I thought she was bleeding and freaked out….who wouldn’t, she was dripping fresh red ink from her hands and face. Once I realized what occurred and that the Red was just Do-A-Dot Marker stained, I tried to clean the ink off. First I tried to clean off her hands with Trader Joe’s Next to Godliness Hand Soap which didn’t remove any ink at all. Unfortunately, then I tried to clean her hands with Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps Tea Tree Oil which removed only 15-20% of the color stains. AHHHH!!! What will I do???

ENTER MY SOLUTION —- Super Body Care’s Walnut Scrub

My daughter started crying again after Dr. Bronner soap barely did anything – she asked, “Daddy, are my hands going to be red forever?”. I calmed her down and promised her I would get it out.

Finally, I grabbed Cheri Heberling’s Super Body Care Walnut Scrub and within seconds of calmly scrubbing, the color came off…completely. She loves the smell, so she allowed me to gently scrub her face (around her sensitive skin of her eyes) as well, because she had wiped her face while crying her eyes looked like a prize fighter. It easily removed her Do-A-Dot eye makeup too.

Thank you Super Body Care for helping me look like a Super Dad to Kaylee. Check out Super Body Care products at: http://SuperBodyCare.com or purchase the Walnut Scrub directly here: http://superbodycare.com/shop/#!/~/product/category=1870672&id=8057839

RELATIONSHIP Question: Is your marriage Zombie Apocalypse proof? Brian Cimins

Ironically, just last year, the Centers for Disease control created a marketing campaign to help Kids understand the importance of being prepared for anything. The CDC commented, “it’s a fun new way of teaching the importance of emergency preparedness. Our new graphic novel, Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic demonstrates the importance of being prepared in an entertaining way that people of all ages will enjoy. Readers follow Todd, Julie, and their dog Max as a strange new disease begins spreading, turning ordinary people into zombies.”

The Centers for Disease Control last year slogan: “If you’re ready for the zombie apocalypse, you’re ready for any emergency.”

—————————————————————

Put the media scare tactic and frenzy aside and honestly ask yourself…

Is your marriage Zombie Apocalypse proof?

As the CDC says, if you are prepared for “anything”, you can get through ANYTHING ELSE together with some guidance, support and most importantly, a blueprint to guarantee success in life and marriage. To help stop the growing panic of many people I coach, I’m going to be posting some Emergency Preparedness Tips to combat ALL of the scare tactics being thrown at us in these trying times.

You are NOT alone!

I’ll be finishing up my relationship improvement book before end of year entitled, “The Warrior Wife Within” and offering free segments here to help strengthen and improve your relationship. I will also be offering coaching sessions starting in January of 2013 to married couples, business owners, and entrepreneurs. We are ALL navigating through life, some have a blueprint, but so many do not even have a plan for their career, let alone their spouse’s happiness or their own desire for a new hobby or sport. Some are lost, some will get help to write their life blueprint, many will not and continue to repeat the patterns of behavior that got them where they are NOW, which might not be where they wanted to be. I help change people’s patterns, their behaviors and re-charge their lives with mastery of human needs alone and have created massive change in many people’s lives in less than 2 hours with me.

Your Strategy Coach,
Brian J. Cimins

P.S. I get results, because I finally found what I’ve always wanted to do in life, “HELP OTHERS”, and my ultimate realization of what my true passion was in life took my “unlimited opportunities” or “sky’s the limit” to a whole different level with a stronger, “infinite universe” or “super-consciousness” level-mentality and frequency. When true happiness and positive energy and proper supplements flow through you, you operate at a different frequency, you think more clearly, you are more productive and you become more successful, guaranteed!

Jeff Glover and Brian Cimins at IGJJF 2003

Future superstar and his biggest fan
The picture above is Jeff Glover and I at IGJJF 2003 (or 2004)

Thinking back to the 1st International Gracie Jiu Jitsu Federation Tournament back in the Summer of 2003, when one of our mutual friends, Gazzy Parman, introduced me to a very young and new Blue Belt competitor, Jeff Glover. I remember watching him in awe all day on Saturday watching him submit opponent after opponent with a no-time-limit format and then on Day 2 (Sunday) in the Absolute division competing for a Free Cruise, where I saw a “legal” slam nearly knock out my new friend under Rorion Gracie’s new Jiu Jitsu Event rules. I guess though, it might have been The Day a Grappling Legend Was Born – for sure it was the Day I’d never be able to forget the name Jeff Glover again.

Like many of you, yesterday, I received Jiu Jitsu Magazine and proudly saw Jeff Glover gracing the front cover. Jeff Glover is a 27-Time Grapplers Quest champion and holds the best grappling record in Grapplers Quest history, losing only 4 times over 8 years of active competition, nearly 6 events nationwide per year.

In 2009, Jeff Glover was signed to the UFC Fan Expo to compete in the first ever Grappling superfight in front of 60,000 fans live from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas at Grapplers Quest – it was a dream come true, but that was Saturday, Jeff wanted to compete Friday too, winning his weight class and the Absolute Division in impressive fashion.

In 2010, Jeff Glover released a great 6-DVD series with Budo Videos, Jeff Glover’s Deep Half Guard available here: http://www.budovideos.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=29007&cat=&page=1 with several other titles already in production.

I always believed in Jeff Glover, because I saw how much he loved grappling and how naturally it came to him, he was “The Natural”. I’m so very proud of you Jeff and always want you to know that you are a wonderful person who can achieve anything in life. Also, please know that Nanny* loves you like another Grandson and my Mother loves you like a younger son. Keep turning heads

Your friend, fan and promoter for life,
Brian J. Cimins, CEO
Grapplers Quest Worldwide

*Nanny is my 84-year-old grandmother who’s watched Jeff Glover compete since the very beginning. She described his excitement level on the mats comparing him to “A young Mike Tyson style aggressive grappler, I Love Him!”.

Classic Interview: Rorion Gracie Responds to Marc Laimon by Brian Cimins – September 2004

Rorion Gracie Interview by Brian Cimins, “The Gracies Respond to Marc Laimon”

Brian Cimins: Mr. Rorion Gracie, in less than 3 weeks, your son will participate in what many are calling the Grappling Superfight of the Year. How does it make you and your family feel to participate at the premier submission grappling event in America, Grapplers Quest on November 6th in Las Vegas? Any comments about Grapplers Quest events in general?

Rorion Gracie: Grapplers Quest has earned its reputation as one of the best no gi competions around and has done a lot to promote the grappling arts.

Brian Cimins: Is it true that your father, Helio Gracie will be attending this event? Will you and Helio be available for photos and autographs after the match?

Rorion Gracie: Yes, my father, Helio is attending Grapplers Quest. We always try to accomodate such requests.

Brian Cimins: How long has your son, Ryron been training for this match and what are you doing differently to prepare for Marc Laimon?

Rorion Gracie: Ryron has been doing his regular tournament routine.

Brian Cimins: What does competing against one of the best grapplers in America mean for you, your son and his career?

Rorion Gracie: If he thinks he is one of the best, he should agree to fight with no poins and no time limit. As for the significance of this fight in Ryron’s career, it it just another match.

Brian Cimins: Please comment on the following statement made by Marc Laimon, “I stopped training there (at the Torrance Academy) after I saw the Pan-Ams in 1996. I saw jiu-jitsu I never saw before, but I was told it was too advanced for me, by Rorion Gracie. It was also too advanced for his students who had been training for years. I personally felt he did not know this advanced jiu-jitsu, and saying it was “too advanced” was a cop out. So I stopped training there, and went out to find my own path and seek out what jiu-jitsu really was, and is becoming.”

Rorion Gracie: I never said to anyone that any jiu-jitsu “was too advanced,” that is a joke. I have discouraged our students from competing in regular BJJ tournaments because of its ridiculous rules. I still think that any competitor who relies on scoring points and then stalling until the time expires does so because he has no confidence in his possibilities. I guess we will find out soon enough how much Marc has learned since he went on his own path…

Brian Cimins: Does it concern you that Marc Laimon knows your style of Gracie Jiu Jitsu?

Rorion Gracie: Can you imagine if he didn’t?

Brian Cimins: Please comment on the overall IGJJF rules of the match and the following statement by Marc Laimon, “I would like to know exactly what Ryron will wear. Training for Gi and no gi are 2 different sports. He already has special Gracie (IGJJF) rules, why not tell me what I am fighting against. Imagine if you show up to the world series, and the umpire says, “Today we will play using a softball”. It is the same game, but the dynamics change dramatically. It should be stated what your opponent will wear!

Rorion Gracie: Marc, regardless of Ryron’s outfit, expect the worst!

Brian Cimins: A 30 minute time limit? Will this help or hurt Ryron?

Rorion Gracie: I wish Marc, who predicted victory, would show his confidence by agreeing to no points and no time limit. Last man standing kind of a deal, I am sure the public wouldn’t mind.

Brian Cimins: What do you think of the slamming rule? Why allow it? Do you think it will assist in the growth of the future of jiu jitsu if people get hurt, like Cameron Earle did?

Rorion Gracie: I think it is an important rule! Aside from punching and kicking, people shoud train Jiu-Jitsu on a regular basis to prepare for real fighting. Cameron (Earle) is a good fighter who made a mistake. If he learned from it, the lesson was priceless.

Brian Cimins: What would you tell people who are on the fence whether or not to attend this tournament to witness this fight LIVE?

Rorion Gracie: They should come (to Las Vegas) and see a great match.

Brian Cimins: What is your prediction of the match?

Rorion Gracie: I expect Ryron to do well as always.

Brian Cimins: Any sponsors to thank?

Rorion Gracie: Varig Airlines, WorldSize, Premier Chiropractic

Please don’t turn your back on champions that lose – EVERYONE LOSES by Brian Cimins

“When you hate the Jiu Jitsu player (playa – lol), you are hating the game too – don’t be fickle fans like many other sports. Stand behind your favorite submission fighter for their heart, exciting style and courage to challenge themselves every chance they can. Sometimes, our champions will stand on top of the Grapplers Quest podium like it is Mount Olympus, sometimes they will walk off the mat, disappointed in defeat. But know this, once you are a Grapplers Quest champion, I’ll help pick you back up, inspire you, challenge you and once again, lead you to the top of the grappling world.”
